When It’s a hard time in the world

It’s a tough time in the world. What can we do? How can we be? Is it ok to still be happy when happiness bubbles into our lives?

Yes, it’s ok to be happy and to be ‘in peace’! Why wouldn’t it help to allow ourselves this? If we’re uplifted and grounded, we have more to offer the world.

When we feel spacious internally, and when our boundaries are being respected, we extend into the world in a spacious and gently strong way. Then we can have true impact.

So, we do what we can, when we can, but we also can ‘stand still’ and ‘simply be’, to connect with others and to talk. Not in a superior way but a connected, respectful way.

If you are truly calm and grounded, you are unlikely to find yourself behaving in a superior way. Believing we are superior usually comes from a place of insecurity.

From a grounded place, we understand that most of us want the same things.

Is there room for fire and intensity? For courage and directness? Sure.

But if you remember your humanity, your struggles and the times you were confused and didn’t know it, when you do become fired up, intense, direct and courageous, you will be speaking a whole different language than if you come from a place of superiority.

We all have to help each other see through the fog at times. Sometimes we’re the helper and at others the one being helped.

I’ve been the helper. And I’ve been the one who was helped. Haven’t you?

Being grounded and humble yet convicted and open is our strength. Let’s be strong and get through this together. It’s time.
